Rolling Blaze try to stay hot

SALT LAKE CITY -- By bouncing back at home in record-tying fashion last Saturday, the Utah Blaze rewarded their fans with a much-needed win and some momentum down the stretch in Arena Football League action.

For an encore, the Blaze are back in action tonight hosting the Kansas City Command at EnergySolutions Arena.

Game time is 6 p.m., with the game set to be televised on NFL Network.

Utah (6-7) whipped the Pittsburgh Power 81-40 last week, tying the largest margin of victory in team history.

The Command (5-9) snapped a two-game losing skid by beating the Cleveland Gladiators last Sunday under new starting QB Stephen Wasil.

Despite the short turnaround for the Command, Blaze coach Ron James doesn't believe it will have a large impact. "We need to come out prepared and not expect that short turnaround to hinder them," James said.

Kansas City boasts one of the top defensive teams in the league, with DL Bryan Robinson and LB Tyus Jackson both ranked in the top five in the league in tackles for loss. Jackson also ranks in the top 10 in sacks, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries.

Utah's offense was back in high gear last week. QB Tommy Grady, who remains on pace to break the AFL's single-season passing records in yards and touchdowns, and is considered a front-runner for the AFL's offensive player of the year award, tossed 10 TDs last week, thanks in large part to the return of WR Aaron Lesue, who led the receivers with 11 catches for 97 yard and five touchdowns.

"I expect a well fought, tough, grind-it-out game," James said. "We need to take advantage of our home-field crowd and not beat ourselves and hopefully we'll come out of here with another win."
