SOUTH WEBER — Gary Gears, a resident of South Weber, during a recent community council meeting, asked there was an exit and remediation plan for Geneva and Staker Parsons plants.
“When fall comes and the canal shuts down, the dust problem escalates,” he said.
Councilman David Thomas said there was a plan for Staker Parsons; however, Geneva has refused to comply with any exit plan. He also said that the state legislation regulations for gravel pits make it “impossible for local jurisdiction.”
