SALT LAKE CITY — A male suspect in his 20s has been taken into custody after a standoff with a SWAT team in Salt Lake City.
Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal says the standoff began after a dead woman was found at the Cherry Hill Apartments on Thursday morning. Police initially responded after receiving a tip.
A SWAT team later converged on a nearby house where they believed a suspect was hiding, and a three-hour standoff ensued until the man surrendered.
Hoyal says the suspect is now in police custody and the case is under investigation.
