Cooperating governments vital to success of communities

The relationship between overlapping public entities is vitally important for the success of our communities.

Common thought holds that government is simply a controlling body with diverse differences between tiered objective levels and conflicting legislative agencies. It is also easy to think that all levels and branches of government should naturally coalesce because they all govern.

How to win in politics by being thoughtful and polite

I'm sure there were political considerations in how he did it -- right after the GOP party caucuses is pretty obvious -- but one reason Gov. Gary Herbert found the courage to veto that odious sex ed bill at all was that a lot of people wrote him really good letters asking him to do so.
