TACOMA, Wash. — A state judge on Tuesday cleared the way for the voyeurism trial of missing Utah mother Susan Powell’s father-in-law, dismissing his request to suppress key evidence in the case.

Judge to decide on handling of key Powell evidence

TACOMA, Wash. -- A Washington judge is preparing to decide whether prosecutors can use evidence gathered in Steve Powell's voyeurism case.

OLYMPIA, Wash. — An attorney for Steve Powell said Monday that investigators frustrated by their unsuccessful quest to find his missing daughter-in-law pursued an "illegal" warrant that eventually led to voyeurism charges.

Co-worker says Powell described snowy camping trip

OLYMPIA, Wash. — A former co-worker of Steve Powell’s in Washington state says she contacted authorities about a snowy camping trip he says he took with his son and grandchildren in Utah around the time his daughter-in-law disappeared in 2009.

OLYMPIA, Wash. — In a folder on his work computer labeled "Personal Pics," Steve Powell maintained a peculiar collection of photos: 55 depicting his daughter-in-law Susan but few if any showing his son.

Thousands of images and emails on his Washington state government-issued laptop provide a small glimpse into his increasingly scrutinized world. Authorities said this week that he is a person of interest in her 2009 disappearance in Utah.

Autopsies: Powell boys suffered 'chop injuries'

GRAHAM, Wash. — Josh Powell’s boys were coming for a visit, and he had preparations to make.

He boxed up their books and toys and brought them to a charity. He carried heavy cans of gasoline inside his house.

 GRAHAM, Wash. — Days after a judge ruled against him in a child custody hearing, a father and his two young sons were killed Sunday when police said he appeared to intentionally blow up a house with all three inside — a tragic ending to a bizarre case that began more than two years ago when the man’s wife went mysteriously missing in Utah.
