Vaughn Streator Tingey died Saturday, April 28, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, at Belmont 2nd Ward, 16925 N. 5200 West, in Riverside, Utah. Friends and family may call from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Rudd Funeral Home, 1234 S. Main, in Garland, Utah, and before services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. Economy hides possible impending shortage of nurses

SOUTH OGDEN — When Bridgette Berkeley goes to work as an intensive care unit nurse at Ogden Regional Medical Center, she feels fortunate.

A July nursing graduate from Stevens-Henager College, Berkeley said she’s bucking the trend to already have the job she wants such a short time after graduation.

Ronde Workman Smith, 87, of Roy, died Monday, October 17, 2011, of causes incident to age. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2011, at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 West, Roy. OGDEN -- Whitnie Dutt took the final step that her mother could not. The 13-year-old stood in at the Stevens-Henager College graduation ceremony Thursday night to accept her mother's diploma.
