Taxing Committee

Syracuse OKs new taxing entity committee

SYRACUSE -- Local officials have mandated that a new committee to oversee the city's Redevelopment Agency revenue will not include taxation without representation.

The council voted 5-0 to appoint Mayor Jamie Nagle and Councilmen Matt Kimmel to the new taxing entity committee, which is being set up to deal with taxing issues within RDA zones in the city.

Pair appointed to taxing committee

The city council appointed two representatives to serve as its appointees on any taxing entity committees.

The representatives will serve on committees for project areas established by Clearfield’s Community Development and Renewal Agency. They will deal with all matters coming before the taxing entity committee and can approve or disapprove project area budgets or amendments.

Council members Mark Shepherd and Kathryn Murray were appointed as the representatives. They will attend taxing entity meeting and vote on behalf of Clearfield on all matters.
