OO-ALC Yearly Award Winners honored at event

The Ogden Air Logistics Center award winners for 2009 were recognized March 4 at Club Hill as 46 award winners from each of the wings and directorates at Hill Air Force Base, received medallions as honored guests or representatives standing in for them. The keynote speaker at the ceremony was the Adjutant General, Utah National Guard, Maj. Gen. Brian Tarbet.

Those taking top honors at the OO-ALC level were given their awards by Maj. Gen. Andrew Busch, commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Center.

Hill staff sergeant headed to Air Force Rugby Mini Camp

In a sport which resembles a cross between soccer and football and injects some of the intensity and scrappiness of wrestling, rugby takes hardy athletes. Hill's Staff Sgt. Dustin Ballingham, line recruiter for the 419th Fighter Wing, is no exception.

Control and Command Post sweeps honors at MAJCOM

Hill's Consolidated Command Post, or HCCP, took top honors at the Air Force Materiel Command level in the large Command Post category. The Command Post supports six wings and personnel from seven major commands at the base and is the largest AFMC command post.

Senior Master Sgt. Robert L. Bush, Command Post superintendent, said that his staff must understand the missions of the Ogden Air Logistics Center and all wings and tenants at the base, work closely with commanders at all levels, assess readiness to fulfill those missions and do all this with authority and diplomacy.

Team Hill engineers win honors at UEC awards banquet

SALT LAKE CITY -- On Feb. 12, more than 250 engineers, family and friends gathered at the Clark Planetarium to attend the Utah Engineers Council's 2010 awards banquet. The banquet kicked off Engineers Week 2010 with dining, awards and a speaker, Kent V Rominger -- an ATK vice president and a former astronaut.

Hill Air Force Base engineering leaders won both of the top awards targeting engineering professionals within the state. There were five major awards announced, three reserved for recognizing educators and students. Lt.

The Chiefs Recognition Candlelight Ceremony honoring the 2010 newly selected chief master sergeants was held Feb. 12 at Club Hill.

The ceremony recognized six Team Hill honorees and their hard work, dedication, loyalty and sacrifice as they achieved the highest enlisted rank in the Air Force. The ceremony also included guest speaker Chief Master Sgt. Tammy Elliott, 20th Air Force Command Chief at F. E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo.

"Being a chief, you are now a leader," said Chief Master Sgt. David Nordel, 75th Air Base Wing Command Chief.

2 for Team Hill as '08, '09 Small Business honors given

A small business contracting officer with Hill Air Force Base is among those who received their awards from 2008 at the Air Force level. Lance Hardman received individual recognition in the category for which the Small Business Office at Hill AFB was also honored in reaching center goals.

The honors, earned in 2008 for small business dollars awarded, are handed out in two-year cycles at the formal award ceremonies.
