Utah officials unveil new state website

SALT LAKE CITY  — Utah officials are improving the state's website with a new design, improved search capabilities and social media integration.

Gov. Gary Herbert says the website improvements will boost online services for businesses, visitors and residents.

The new design provides a more social experience by alerting users to scheduled public meetings close to their locations, offering links to photos of Utah attractions shared online and providing an updated list of the most popular online services.

The search feature is made more robust by including results from state agencies, including office hours, interactive maps and contact information.

Utah's state website receives about 1.2 million unique visitors per month, which is more than the White House website receives.

The new website also provides mobile options for smartphone and tablet computers.
