Texting, tweeting lingo creeping into schoolwork

Clarissa De La Paz said she has caught herself writing at school like she texts with her friends.

Former Miss Utah USA won't quit advancing her cause

SALT LAKE CITY -- Jamie Lynn Crandall took off her crown recently, but she won't stop passing around the life-saving message that became her platform as Miss Utah USA 2011: "Hang up, Save a Life Before You Drive."

Beating victim was a 'bully', teen suspect's mom says

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Deerfield Beach beating victim Josie Lou Ratley was being a bully and should apologize to the teenage boy who nearly beat her to death, the boy's mother and stepfather said to a national TV audience Friday.

But now authorities are facing a tough question: Should those who send tweets be held liable for the problems their messages cause?

Police don't believe texting caused Layton motorcycle wreck

 

LAYTON — Police say they don’t believe texting was a factor in a serious motorcycle accident along U.S. 89 Tuesday night.

No helmet and excessive speed left the 20-year-old motorcyclist unconscious after the 11 p.m. accident.
