Layton crew aids cleanup project

LAYTON -- While waiting for the arrival of materials needed to complete a project, Davis County's public works department lent its support where the help was needed.

Last week, cleaning crews from Layton and Davis County combined forces to clean up the detention pond area just south of Home2Suites, 803 W. Heritage Park Blvd.

"Eventually, that area will be a destination point in which many people will gather and enjoy what's around them," said Mayor Steve Curtis.

Tax advisory board defines its purpose

LAYTON — The Davis County Tourism Tax Advisory Board has adopted a resolution clarifying its role as an advisory board to the Davis County Commission.

The board adopted the resolution at its Dec. 1 meeting.

Davis County tourism funds support Layton walkway

LAYTON — Line items in Davis County’s 2012 tourism fund budget include a portion of the $242,000 needed to build a 1,350-foot-long pedestrian walkway to connect many of Layton’s restaurants, hotels and the Davis Conference Center.

The creation of the Layton walking path would “connect” conference center visitors tobusinesses, Davis County Tourism Tax Advisory Board Chairman Gary Petersen stated in a letter to the county commission.
