Teen who died in crash is identified

ELWOOD — The Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office has identified 16-year-old Devin Jensen, of Tremonton, as the teenager who died in a crash Saturday.

Jensen was a passenger in a car that rolled over near 6800 West and 9600 North in Elwood. He was ejected from the car and suffered crushing-type injuries, said Box Elder County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Kevin Potter. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

He died at Bear River Valley Hospital.

The other two people in the car, a 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl, suffered minor injuries. They were Jensen’s relative and family friend, though their identities are not being released, Potter said.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the accident, though speed seems to be a factor, he said. Weather, drugs and alcohol were not factors.
