A mother and child were hit by a truck while walking in a crosswalk Monday afternoon in Ogden. Ogden police said the 23-year-old mother had the right of way as she pushed a stroller carrying her child, who is less than a year old, at 12:53 p.m. on the corner of 17th Street and Wall Avenue. The 32-year-old driver of a Chevrolet 1500 was turning left to go north onto Wall Avenue when he hit the woman and child. An ambulance transported the mother and child to McKay-Dee Hospital. The child may have been injured, and the mother had nonincapacitating injuries. Police said that whatever the extent of injuries, they did not appear to be life-threatening. The driver of the truck was cited for failure to yield. (Nick Short/Standard-Examiner)
