FARMINGTON -- City leaders have formalized a three-way agreement to help subsidize bus service to Lagoon on Sundays for a cost of $4,658.
The city council voted unanimously at a recent meeting to an agreement with Lagoon and the Utah Transit Authority to provide money for bus service to the amusement park on Sundays.
UTA had proposed discontinuing the service because of low ridership, but Lagoon and city officials met with UTA to work out a new agreement to keep the service going.
As part of the agreement, Lagoon agreed to pay UTA $13,974 for the service, which is operational from April 2 to Oct. 29. It will be evaluated on a yearly basis.
City officials maintain the service will become even more critical as Station Park is developed and attracts people to the city.
