New 'Twilight' an annoying cliffhanger

The long-awaited fourth installment to the five-movie and four-book series "The Twilight Saga" has finally arrived.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1" was as enjoyable as any of the other "Twilight" movies, if you are a fan. However, some viewers may get bored during the first half of this latest episode. This movie covers the first half of the book "Breaking Dawn" by Stephenie Meyer. The book was split into two movies -- in "Harry Potter" fashion -- due to its length and the director's desire to preserve some of its smaller details.

The new movie follows once again the romance between Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a vampire, and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), a human. In the previous book, "Eclipse," Edward asked Bella to marry him, which is where this film begins. Their wedding is a beautiful outdoor ceremony, followed by an exotic honeymoon to a private island off the coast of Brazil.

Centerville theater ready to open

CENTERVILLE -- When the first shovel hit the ground last fall for the construction of the 14-auditorium Megaplex Theatres at Legacy Crossing, the general manager of the theater chain guaranteed it would be open in time for the Nov. 18 premiere of the third film of the "Twilight" series.

Builders beat that Hollywood mark by nearly a month, with the theater in Centerville set to open to the public at 10 a.m. Friday.

Inter-species romance has become routine in young adult lit lately, especially between nubile young women who like their guys muscular and wolfen, at least for part of the day.

Edward or Jacob? Midnight premiere of 'Eclipse' brings rivalry, fans, festivities, to Ogden's Megaplex 13

Teams Edward and Jacob, along with a bevy of Bella buffs, will gather tonight at Ogden's Megaplex 13 at the Junction for an evening of festivities to culminate in the midnight local debut of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."

Name that baby: Mom & Dad choose Isabella, Jacob

WASHINGTON -- Mom and Dad may be looking to popular vampire books and the first family for baby names: Cullen is on the rise for boys and Malia for girls. But Miley and Jonas are down, proving that acclaim can be fleeting.

Jacob or Edward? After second movie, vampire fans may switch sides to werewolf

Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob?

For me, it differs between "Twilight" the books and "Twilight" the movies. In the books, I am Team Edward all the way, but in "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," I am fiercely rooting for Jacob, and it's not just because of his impressively fine physique. The on-screen relationship between the actors who play Bella and Jacob (Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner) differs quite a bit from the relationship shared by Stewart and Robert Pattinson (Edward).

Acting better in 'New Moon'

As a recently converted member of team Bella and a representative of the male species, I must admit that I did go see the second installment of the Twilight saga, "New Moon," and you should probably know that I have read three out of the four books as well.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

The "Twilight" soap opera continues with a lighter, goofier and far less erotically charged sequel, "New Moon," a movie directed by a man and not a woman.
