OGDEN -- Utah Department of Transportation is advising motorists to expect lane closures on northbound I-15 late tonight, Jan. 4, in North Salt Lake.
In a news release, UDOT spokesman Vic Saunders states that crews will close two lanes tonight on northbound I-15 at Mile Marker 313 in North Salt Lake, beginning at 11 p.m. The closure is being undertaken to accommodate work associated with a petroleum pipeline being placed under the interstate highway at that point. The closure will end at 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Motorists are encouraged to move to open lanes as soon as they see signs ahead indicating the lanes are closed, then reduce speed and increase their awareness of workers and equipment operating in lanes adjacent to the open lanes of traffic. Moderate traffic congestion is possible as a result of this work, so motorists are encouraged to consider alternatives, such as northbound Interstate 215 or U.S.89.
