West Point OKs board appointments

WEST POINT -- The city council in January approved a resolution containing appointments by the mayor to fill liaison positions.

North Ogden plans to rescind utility shut-off resolution

NORTH OGDEN -- Residents who don't pay their code violation fines may soon get a reprieve.

The council plans to rescind a resolution passed in October that allows the city to shut off major utilities if citations for code violations aren't paid.

Ogden to host African delegation

OGDEN -- The city council will host a delegation from the African country of Mali next month to provide the group with insights into the workings of municipal government.

Sixteen Malian mayors and five city managers will visit several Utah cities in December, said Bill Cook, the city council's executive director.

The event is being coordinated by the Utah League of Cities and Towns.

Farmington leader selected president

SALT LAKE CITY -- Farmington Mayor Scott Harbertson was elected president of the board of the Utah League of Cities and Towns during its recent convention.
