SALT LAKE CITY -- A resolution asking the federal government to remove wolves from the Endangered Species Act List is headed to the governor for his signature.
Senate Concurrent Resolution 15, sponsored by Sen. Allen Christensen, R-North Ogden, was approved Wednesday by the House, 74-1.
More than 66,000 wolves can be found in the nation, said resolution co-sponsor Rep. Michael Noel, R-Kanab.
Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, a Democrat, had recently signed an order authorizing wildlife personnel not to investigate or prosecute ranchers who kill wolves that threaten or kill livestock, Noel said.
