Defensive driving course offered in Ogden

OGDEN -- The Utah Safety Council is offering four-hour defensive driving courses at Weber State University.

The course will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on May 12 and May 19 and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on May 15 at the Shepherd Union Building.

The four-hour course consists of classroom instruction and focuses on collision prevention, driving confidence, awareness of hazards and improving driving skills.

Staker Parson honored for safety performance in 2010

OGDEN -- The Utah Safety Council recently honored Staker Parson Companies and its subsidiary companies Western Rock Products and Hales Sand & Gravel for their outstanding safety performance in 2010.

80 Utah companies to receive safety awards

SALT LAKE CITY - Over 80 Utah organizations will be receiving safety awards for safety excellence in the workplace. The Utah Safety Council's Awards Program will be held in conjunction with the Utah Safety Council Annual Meeting on Aug. 26 at the Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel, 150 West 500 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. This is the largest safety recognition program in the state to honor organizations for safety excellence.
