HOOPER -- Police are searching for a missing Hooper woman and are asking for the public's help.

Katherine S. Doutre, 51, was last seen around 7:30 a.m. Friday when she dropped her child off at Roy High School.

Weber County Sheriff's Capt. Klint Anderson said Doutre was last seen by her husband, who called police Saturday to report her missing.

Anderson said the woman is known to be distraught and has been known to disappear for a few hours at a time to compose herself, but it's unusual for her to be gone for more than half a day.

All of Doutre's possessions, including her cell phone, wallet, ID and keys, were left in her home. Her vehicle was also left at the home.

She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with "Buffalo Bill Tire" written on it, blue sweatpants, a white or gray sweatshirt with "Mastercraft" written on it, and a blue and gray coat.

Police have done several searches of the area surrounding her home.

On Monday afternoon, officers and a tracking dog went to a field area near her home, searching for her scent in hopes it would lead them to any clues about her disappearance.

Sgt. Wayne Smith said officers had searched the field the night before, and a state Department of Public Safety helicopter also helped search the field earlier that morning.

"We didn't find anything (in previous searches)," he said before the afternoon search began. "We thought we'd come back again."

He said they were working on "covering their bases" by checking the field, but as of Monday afternoon, police had no clues as to what may have happened to Doutre.

Anderson said they have not ruled out any possibilities and are looking into any circumstances or clues that might indicate what happened and why.

"We are still hoping to find her alive," he said.

Anyone with information that may be helpful in the investigation is asked to call the Weber County Detective Section at (801) 778-6631 or the Dispatch Center after hours at (801) 629-8221.
