2 held in Utah after 2 women killed

ST. GEORGE -- Police in southern Utah are investigating a double slaying after two women were found dead and a man was found wounded after a shooting in downtown in St. George.

The Spectrum of St. George reported Monday that two men were arrested after police found the bodies of 20-year-old Jerrica Christensen and 27-year-old Brandie Sue Dawn Jerden about 3 a.m. Saturday in the apartment in St. George.

A Dixie Regional Medical Center spokeswoman says 28-year-old James Fiske was treated for a shoulder wound and released.

St. George police Sgt. Craig Harding tells The Spectrum that 31-year-old Paul Ashton and 29-year-old Brandon Perry Smith were arrested several hours after the shooting.

Both were jailed on $1 million bail pending court appearances on murder and other charges.
