Cache County using state grants to enforce DUIs

LOGAN -- Authorities in Cache County say they are using extra money from the state to have officers work extra hours enforcing seat belt and driving under the influence laws.

Police Det. Travis Allen told the Herald Journal of Logan that the funding lasts two weeks and requires officers to have at least two contacts with drivers per hour during the shifts.

Random stops are prohibited except during traffic checkpoints.
