ST. GEORGE -- A Utah sheriff has determined that a 20-year-old man's fatal fall from a cliff in Snow Canyon State Park was an accident.
The Spectrum of St. George reported Friday that the Washington County sheriff's office found no foul play in Joshua F. Shillander's death.
An official cause of death awaits an autopsy report from the state medical examiner.
A funeral is scheduled Saturday in St. George.
Shillander fell Sunday, and his body was found and recovered by helicopter Monday after an initial rescue effort was halted due to icy conditions and darkness.
Officials said Shillander tumbled about 80 feet off the Island in the Sky trail into a crevice.
Two hiking companions were also trapped on the ledge and had to be rescued.
