Former US secretary of state to speak at BYU

PROVO -- Former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice plans to speak about her global perspective at BYU this week as part of a Utah trip.

The Deseret News reports the former George W. Bush administration official plans to speak about the perspective she gained from representing the country on specific issues in China, the Middle East and India.

Rice spent eight years in Bush's administration.

Rice is also expected to play piano to benefit the Deer Valley Music Festival in Park City. She'll be joined there by the Muir Quartet.
