LAYTON -- Former President George W. Bush's senior adviser, Karl Rove, will be this year's keynote speaker at the Davis County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner.
Rove, author of the New York Times best-selling book "Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight," will speak before the Davis County Republican group beginning at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Davis Conference Center, 800 W. Heritage Park Blvd., in Layton.
The Davis GOP is proud to announce Rove as the keynote speaker for the annual event, said party Chairwoman Shirley Bouwhuis.
Rove, an adviser to President Bush from 2000 to 2007 and deputy chief of staff from 2004 to 2007, has written a candid, behind-the-scenes view of some of the country's most turbulent years in the White House, Bouwhuis said.
Rove, who at one time attended the University of Utah, is currently a Fox News contributor and writes a weekly op-ed for The Wall Street Journal as a Newsweek columnist.
"We are excited and honored that Karl Rove is taking time from his busy schedule to speak at the DCRP Lincoln Day Dinner," Bouwhuis said.
"He is sure to generate much interest, especially since 2010 was a historical mid-term election for the Republican Party, and 2012 is shaping up to be an exciting election year, too."
Tickets for the event are $50 per person, which includes dinner and a copy of Rove's book, Bouwhuis said.
Sponsorships, which include a VIP reception, dinner and a signed copy of Rove's book, are also available, she said.
The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a VIP reception with Rove.
Dinner will begin at 7:45 p.m., with the program to begin at 8 p.m.
