FARMINGTON -- A two-day trial for a man charged with aggravated sexual abuse of a child has been stricken.
Steven Shane Tingey, 40, who was found in a West Bountiful attic July 20, 2010, appeared in 2nd District Court in Farmington on Tuesday.
Tingey, charged with a first-degree felony, is in Davis County Jail on no bail. A two-day trial set for August was canceled after he failed to appear for a July court hearing.
Judge David Connors set Feb. 22 and 23 for the jury trial on the child sex abuse charges filed by North Salt Lake Police in October 2009. Those dates were stricken Tuesday. Defense attorneys asked for more time to review evidence from the case.
Another hearing for that case, and for the charges filed when police found him the attic, has been set for Feb. 23.
