Police: Trece member arrested in robbery

OGDEN — An Ogden man was arrested after police say he was one of two who robbed a man and threatened him with a baseball bat.

Channing Cook, 21, was booked into Weber County Jail on Friday on suspicion of aggravated robbery and violation of Ogden’s Trece gang injunction.

Lt. Danielle Croyle said the incident took place in the 1200 block of 24th Street. Cook was with another man who approached a man walking in the area.

One of the two men had a baseball bat, Croyle said, and threatened the victim. They took the victim’s backpack and continued walking east on 24th Street. The victim followed the two men, then called police to give a description of the suspects.

Croyle said Cook was found in bushes along the same block where the robbery had occurred. The other man involved was not found.

Cook was arrested for the robbery, Croyle said, and he also was cited for being out past curfew as outlined in the city injunction.
