SALT LAKE CITY -- About 33 air guardsmen from Utah Air National Guard's 151st Security Forces Squadron left Thursday morning for a six-month deployment in Iraq.
They will lead four other military units in assisting airbase defensive forces as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Half of the group is already deployed overseas.
Some of the air guardsmen hail from six Weber and Davis County cities: Centerville, Clearfield, Clinton, Layton, Syracuse and West Point.
The squadron's deployment is part of its regularly scheduled rotation.
