CENTERVILLE -- The city council approved an amended list of its historic landmark register in an effort to clarify it and add needed detail.
City Manager Steve Thacker said there were many versions of the city, and the idea was to consolidate and clarify its historic sites.
The Historic Sites Committee requested staff research the listing and compile a more accurate inventory. The revised and approved list contains 28 properties and includes properties built as early as the 1860s.
Many of the items are also nationally listed historic sites.
A letter and certificate will be sent to the current owners of the properties, and the certificate will then be taken to the Davis County Recorder's Office to be recorded. Owners can also choose to be removed from the list by contacting the city.
