CEDAR CITY -- The Utah Highway Patrol says a trooper escaped injury when a vehicle slid on snowy pavement and slammed into her parked patrol cruiser on Interstate 15 near Cedar City.

Highway Patrol Sgt. Ryan Bauer tells the Salt Lake Tribune that Trooper Kim Riddle was taken to Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City as a precaution after the crash a little before 10 a.m. Monday.

No one in the other car was hurt.

The driver of the other car, Renan Slilva, told investigators he was driving to Salt Lake City when another vehicle slid into his lane, forcing his vehicle to hit the UHP cruiser.

Riddle had been sitting in her patrol car while investigating an earlier accident.
