SALT LAKE CITY -- AAA Utah is offering free rides this St. Patrick's Day to keep everyone on the road safe.
The service will provide a one-way ride for the driver and tow for the vehicle to the driver's home. If there are passengers who need a ride, they will be taken to the driver's home as long as there is sufficient room in the tow truck.
Call 800-222-4357 and tell the AAA operator, "I need a tipsy tow," and help will be on its way. AAA does not take reservations.
The service will be available from 6 p.m. today to 6 a.m. Friday.
Drunken-driving crashes account for almost 36 percent of highway deaths of people ages 16 to 24, according to 2008 statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
