OGDEN -- A young boy is lucky to be alive after being hit by a car Friday afternoon, police say.
A 17-year-old girl was driving east on 32nd Street in her silver 2005 Ford Focus when her front passenger tire blew out. She overcorrected and jumped a curb on the 300 block of the street near Kiesel Avenue, said Ogden Police Lt. Eric Young.
A 6-year-old boy standing on the sidewalk was struck by the car around 3 p.m. He was taken to Ogden Regional Medical Center to be checked out, but it appeared his injuries only include bumps and abrasions on his arm, Young said.
The driver has not been cited or charged regarding the accident at this time, he says. Any charges are pending the ongoing investigation.
