OGDEN -- A 6-year-old boy remained at Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City on Saturday, recovering from injuries suffered when he was hit by a car Friday afternoon.
The boy has a bruised kidney and has trouble holding down food, his grandmother, Maria Morales, said Saturday.
Police say a 2005 Ford Focus, traveling east on 32nd Street, blew a tire, the driver overcorrected and the car jumped the curb near Kiesel Avenue, hitting the boy, who was on the sidewalk.
Morales' son's girlfriend, who was with the boy at the time, also received a minor arm injury from the accident, said Police Sgt. Chad Ledford.
Any citations or charges are pending completion of the ongoing investigation, he said.
