ST. GEORGE -- Police say an 18-year-old woman faces rape and rape of a child charges in a case involving a victim under age 14.
Springdale police tell the Spectrum of St. George that Kymmeri Laceigh Smith of LaVerkin was arrested Saturday .
Springdale police Officer Garen Brecke wouldn't comment about the case. He calls it an open investigation.
Smith was held on $30,000 bail at Purgatory Correctional Facility in Hurricane.
Rape of a child is a first degree felony punishable by 25 years to life in prison, or life without parole if the defendant is found to have caused serious bodily injury or has been previously convicted of a grievous sexual offense.
