SALT LAKE CITY -- A Salt Lake City thrift store was evacuated after the discovery of a World War II-era artillery shell.

Fox13 reports the 80-millimeter shell was dropped off in a donation area of a Deseret Industries store Wednesday.

The shell was handled by several employees before being recognized.

A Salt Lake City police bomb squad was called to the store about 2 p.m. They safely removed the shell about 90 minutes later.
