Searchers in Utah find missing soldier's hat

SALT LAKE CITY — Authorities say they likely will suspend until this weekend the search for a soldier missing from a military installation in Utah's west desert.

Tooele County Search and Rescue members and personnel from the U.S. Army's Dugway Proving Ground say they've found a baseball hat belonging to Spc. Michael Bushling. The hat was found about six miles from Bushling's car, which was found Saturday night about 60 miles southwest of the facility's main gate.

The 26-year-old Bushling hasn't been heard from since he called a friend on his cell phone more than a week ago to report he had car trouble.

About 50 people were searching Monday using all-terrain vehicles and cadaver dogs. Tooele County Sheriff Frank Park says the search will be suspended possibly until this weekend.
