BOUNTIFUL -- A 7-year-old boy was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center after being hit by a car early Monday afternoon.
The boy was with two other children crossing the intersection of 200 South and 100 East in Bountiful at 12:15 p.m., when he turned around to retrieve a dropped item, police said.
That is when he was hit by a car. The other two children had made it safely across the crosswalk.
Bountiful Police Lt. Sol Oberg said the driver was cited.
Police had said the boy was conscious and alert when he was transported, but Oberg had no information on his condition Monday night.
Oberg urged drivers to "Be aware that school is out and kids are around, and take a little bit of extra caution. Kids are out playing and doing their thing."
