Governor to tour flooded areas in central Utah

SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah Gov. Gary Herbert will tour areas impacted by flooding along the Sevier River in central Utah.

Herbert will visit with local officials and residents around Richfield on Tuesday.

A flood warning along the river is being extended by the National Weather Service through Friday for portions of Juab, Piute, Sevier, and Sanpete counties.

The Sevier is one of four rivers currently at or above flood stage in Utah.

In northern Utah, the Weber and Ogden rivers continue to exceed their banks. Thousands of acres of farmland have already been flooded and a flood warning is in effect for portions of Weber, Summit, Davis and Morgan counties.

A flood warning continues for the Green River in eastern Utah, as well.
