Hyrum girl clung to pickup's bumper after crash

HYRUM -- Utah Highway Patrol officials say a 7-year-old girl clung to the bumper of a pickup after it hit her while she was riding her bike, saving her from serious injury.

Patrol Sgt. Rick Mayo tells the Herald Journal of Logan that the accident last week happened as young Sabrina King was riding her bike with her two siblings.

A 64-year-old man driving a pickup hit her in a crosswalk, then kept going 25 feet down the road as the girl held on.

He was flagged down by a barber shop owner who saw the collision.

Sabrina's mother says her daughter left the incident with only a minor scrape on her toe.
