SLC police offer reward in hit-and-run

SALT LAKE CITY -- Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information about the driver of a car that hit a woman and fled the scene.

Police say 26-year-old Elvia Lopez was hit June 22 while crossing a street against a red light near downtown Salt Lake City. The car didn't stop and continued onto a nearby on-ramp for Interstate 15.

Police say the vehicle may have damage to its front end. Witnesses say it was a dark-colored midsized car, most likely with four doors.

Lopez is a single mother with two children. She remains in critical condition.
