PLEASANT VIEW -- Residents here are paying more for sanitary sewer as of July 1, but the change won't show up until August bills go out. Council members approved an increase of 75 cents, making the charge $19.75 per month per household.
City Recorder Laurie Hellstrom said the increase is a planned part of the city budget. She said Perry and Willard have seen much larger increases, with residents there paying $50 a month or more.
In other business, the city is buying software to update its Casselle computer programs.
"We've had Casselle for years," Hellstrom said. "Most cities use it."
Council members approved the update in June, she said, because the cost was $25,500, whereas the update would have cost $30,000 if purchased after June.
