SALT LAKE CITY -- A Sandy man has been charged in federal court after authorities say he pelted a flight attendant with peanuts and pretzels on a Southwest Airlines plane from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City.
Authorities filed the complaint against Pogos Paul Sefilian in U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, charging him with interference with a flight crew
They say Sefilian was on a flight from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City on Monday evening when he attempted to smoke an electronic cigarette. The complaint says a flight attendant repeatedly told him it was against airline policy and to put away the device.
Authorities say Sefilian became enraged and threw peanuts and pretzels at the flight attendant.
He was arrested and remains held. His attorney declined comment Tuesday.
