FARMINGTON -- It appears Davis County entities will receive federal aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency because of the damage from the Dec. 1 hurricane-force winds that tore through the area.

Train-truck collision causes traffic delays in North Salt Lake

(MATTHEW ARDEN HATFIELD/Standard-Examiner) A train hit a truck in North Salt Lake on Monday, tipping over the second empty trailer the truck was hauling. Only one person was injured in the crash — a refinery worker was taken to an area hospital with a compound leg fracture, officials say. The railroad tracks are marked only by a crossing sign. The investigation into the accident is continuing.

NORTH SALT LAKE -- Police are investigating why a semi-truck driver did not yield to a train Monday morning at a railroad crossing at 232 W. Center St.
