Davis receives FEMA check for $72,600 to repair wind damage

FARMINGTON — The check is no longer in the mail — it has crossed the table of the Davis County Commission and will now be deposited for use.

The first, much-anticipated disaster relief and emergency assistance check from the federal government for the Dec. 1 hurricane-force windstorm that tore through Davis County has arrived from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The Davis County Commission accepted the $72,600 federal check Tuesday.

Robert “Hoot” Earl Barkley, 82, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at home. A funeral will be held Monday, April 9, at the Greek Orthodox Holy Transfiguration Church, 674 42nd St., Ogden. Friends may visit family from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 8, at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where military honors will be accorded. Davis County agrees to hourly rate of golf course cleanup
