VFW Post schedules flag retirement day

BRIGHAM CITY -- The Veterans of Foreign War Post 1695 will hold a flag retirement ceremony at 4 p.m. April 16 at which the post will demonstrate the proper disposal of old, worn-out flags. Approximately 200 flags will be burned according to proper procedures.

An American flag can be proudly flown outdoors only for so long before it starts to show signs of wear and tear. And when those signs of wear begin to appear, there are specific rules about the proper disposal of the flag. This event will be held at the arena located at the Dale Young Park, 1200 W. 2250 South, Perry. The public is invited to attend.
