Weather delaying project at Plain City park

PLAIN CITY -- Development is moving along at Pioneer Park, a councilwoman says.

Councilwoman LaFray Kelley said work has been a little slower than planned because of the weather, but the city will soon be working on phase two of Pioneer Park, which will include completion of the parking lot, storm drain improvements, a walking path and baseball diamond.

She said the playground will probably not be installed until phase three, but the city can change that. Once phase two is complete, the park will be usable.

Kelley also said the city has received $57,000 in Community Development Block Grant money and she wanted to thank everyone who participated in the survey that helped bring in the grant.

She also said she wanted to thank the many volunteers who participated in the city cleanup day.
