Elaine Todd Walker of Roy will be honored for her 80th birthday. Friends and family may attend an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 11 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hooper North chapel, 5050 S. 5900 West.
Born and raised in Hooper on Sept. 13, 1930, to George D. and Kathryn Andrews Todd, she graduated from Weber High School in 1948.
She married Wayne W. Walker on July 28, 1950, in the Logan LDS Temple. She has served as Young Women's and Relief Society president, Primary teacher and Junior Sunday School coordinator. She and her husband served in the Canada Montreal LDS Mission. They also served as ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple.
She volunteered for the Weber Council PTA, senior citizens, and served on the Weber High School Class of 1948 Reunion Committee for more than 50 years. She has directed, applied makeup, and helped with the production of most of the plays and musicals presented in Hooper.
She worked for the Internal Revenue Service, retiring in 1992. She was honored with the Service Center Quality Employee of the Month Award.
She has traveled with her husband and taken cruises through the Panama Canal and to Alaska.
Her daughters and sons-in-law are Linda and Chuck Smith, Sandra and Bart Spencer, Paula and Dennis Miller, and Tami and Gary Hendricks. She has 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
