Winter parking guidelines in effect in Syracuse

SYRACUSE -- Winter parking guidelines go into effect in this city as of Tuesday.

The guidelines limit parking of any kind of vehicle on city streets from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Tuesday to March 15 on any day it snows or snow is forecast.

Police Chief Brian Wallace said the intent of the rule is to clear streets for snow removal and that police cite violations only in times of a storm.

Bountiful winter parking regulations begin

Winter parking regulations will go into effect in this city beginning Nov. 1.

The regulation says vehicles must be off the street from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., beginning Nov. 1 and extending to April 1. The guideline also prohibits parking vehicles on the street when it is snowing, or within 12 hours thereafter. The prohibition does not include Main Street between 500 South and 400 North.
