Thousands of fans line up for SF Giants parade

SAN FRANCISCO — Orange-and-black clad hordes flooded the streets of San Francisco on Wednesday for a Halloween Day ticker-tape parade celebrating the 2012 World Series champion Giants.

More than an hour before the start of the parade, thousands of people decked out in Giants gear or Halloween costumes stood 20 deep behind barriers along Market Street.

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Giants and Detroit Tigers are sticking with the 25-man active rosters that got them to the World Series.

Game 6 of World Series postponed by rainy forecast

ST. LOUIS -- Game 6 of the World Series has been postponed because of a rainy forecast.

Major League Baseball announced the decision about 4 1/2 hours before the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals were set to play Wednesday at Busch Stadium.

Texas leads the Series 3-2. Game 6 is now set for Thursday night at 8:05 p.m. EDT. If Game 7 is necessary, it would be played Friday night.
