Birch Creek Reservoir

You can access to the dam is through Woodruff. We recommend a 4x4 vehicle or a snowmobile. Try using rainbow-colored tube jigs.

Blacksmith Fork River

Very few people fish this river in the winter. Access can be difficult.

Bountiful Lake

Fish stocking stopped in late fall and will not resume until spring.

Causey Reservoir

Anglers report that the ice is nearly 11 inches thick. Fishing is slow.

Cutler Reservoir & Marsh

No recent reports.

East Canyon Reservoir & State Park

Conservation Officer Jonathan Moser reports that the reservoir has 8 to 10 inches of ice. Anglers report hot success fishing of the bottom for rainbows with PowerBait, or jigging a smoke-gray paddle-bug.

Echo Reservoir

Conservation Officer Bruce Johnson reports good fishing, and that ice has formed on Echo Reservoir. Angler reports indicate that the ice is up to eight inches thick. Use caution and make sure you check ice thickness carefully before venturing out.

Farmington Pond

No recent reports.

Holmes Creek Reservoir

Holmes Creek will no longer be stocked with rainbows. Ice anglers look forward to the winter because it is the only time of the year that you can reach the middle of the reservoir, since the use of boats is prohibited on this irrigation reservoir. The water level is low. Use caution and make sure you check ice thickness carefully before venturing out.

Hyrum Reservoir & State Park

Anglers report that the ice is 6 to 8 inches thick. Fishing success is fair for rainbows with PowerBait and 7- to 8-inch perch with perch eyes.

Jensen Nature Park Pond

Fish stocking stopped in late fall and will not resume until spring.

Kaysville Ponds

No recent reports.

Little Creek Reservoir

No recent reports.

Logan River

No recent reports.

Lost Creek Reservoir

Conservation Officer Jonathan Moser reports that the reservoir is completely frozen. There has been some fishing activity near the dam, but there are no reports about how thick the ice is. The reservoir had open water as recently as Dec. 23. Use caution.

Mantua Reservoir

Biologist Ben Nadolski reports good fishing for trout.

Mirror Lake

Access is limited to snowmobiles. Be prepared for extreme weather conditions if you fish any of the lakes in the Uintas.

Newton Reservoir

Anglers have reported signs of people and snow machines out on the ice, but there are no reports of fishing success.

Ogden River

Anglers report good fishing for small browns.

Pineview Reservoir

Biologist Ben Nadolski reports that overall fishing for perch is fair, and that the ice is about 10 inches thick. Some anglers had good success for perch in the Narrows, on the north side of Cemetery Point and near Browning Point. Most anglers report a very light bite for perch, so a strike indicator will be helpful. Anglers are catching perch on an assortment of jigs and ice flies. Try tipping your jig with perch meat or eyeballs to increase the likelihood of success. Nadolski measured a lot of 10- to 11-inch fish, but most anglers are catching a lot of small perch. There are a few reports of anglers catching crappie in The Narrows, but overall crappie fishing is very slow.

Porcupine Reservoir

Conservation Officer Matt Burgess reports that the reservoir still has open water. An angler reported that it looked like poor quality ice was forming in the middle. Use caution.

Rockport Reservoir

Anglers report good fishing for fat rainbows.

Weber River

Conservation Officer Bruce Johnson reports that fishing along the Weber River between Wanship and Coalville has been fair. Fishing pressure has been light to moderate. The Weber River has some ice forming and occasional ice flows. Please be careful.

Willard Bay Reservoir

There is some angling activity at the north marina. Fishing should be fair.
